One of the modern distilleries Tomintoul was established in 1964 on Speyside. Used primarily in the Whyte and Mackay blends however in recent years more Tomintoul Single Malt Scotch Whisky has been released both as distillery and independent bottlings.

Tomintoul can be wonderfully fruity.
